“I’m sure he’ll appreciate your
visit,” Hunter said. As the doors opened, he caught her by the hand before she
could step onto the elevator. “Hey, do you think we could have coffee again
sometime? Or maybe even dinner?”
“Well, yes, I would like that very
much,” Clarissa said, doing a mental jig of excitement while remaining
nonplussed on the outside. She smiled at him and he released her hand.
“Okay, well I would need your number,”
Hunter called out as the doors started to close.
Clarissa punched the button
to hold the doors for a second. “You can get it from Ryan,” she said flippantly, wondering why he frowned just before the doors slid shut again.
